Land Transport New Zealand (LTNZ), Transit, Police and Department of Conservation recognise the importance of drivers observing the Code of Practice for operating coaches on State Highway 94 (SH94) between Te Anau to Milford Sound. Indeed Transit may under certain conditions restrict access over sections of SH94 to those drivers who are able to illustrate compliance with the Code of Practice.

The Limited Credit Programme (LCP) School Bus Driver comprises several unit standards selected by industry and the Ministry of Education (MoE) as part of a number of enhancements to increase school transport safety and reliability. Completion of the LCP contributes to MoE standards set for operators as part of the school bus contracting and tendering review.

This Land Transport NZ approved passenger endorsement course assesses participants against New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) unit standards specified by NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) so as to confirm that they have the to the required level of competency to hold a Passenger ("P") endorsed Driver Licence.
