This course has been designed for people who are employed as forklift operators but who have very limited or no formal forklift training or operating experience.

To provide an assessment service for forklift operators wishing to obtain a New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) Driver Licence Forklift (F) Endorsement and/or to meet Department of Labour health and safety requirements.

The approved Code of Practice (ACOP) for Training Operators and Instructors of Powered Industrial Lift trucks outlines a standard of training that should be provided by forklift owners, managers and trainers of forklift operators. The ACOP also outlines the requirements that must be met by trainers of forklift operators seeking Department of Labour registration and approval of their training material (which is managed by Competenz).
