Driver Chris Pither begins his challenge for the Series Title after an absence in Australia driving utes, experience that will stand him in good stead in this third NZ V8 Ute Racing Series. He will be remembered by many as one of New Zealand's most promising young drivers from several seasons ago as he rose through the ranks before his career took him to Australia. There he raced with success in the Australian V8 Ute Series, the V8 Development Series and the V8 Supercar Championship. Last summer he returned home to contest the final round of the NZ V8 Utes Series at Teretonga Park, finishing runner-up for the round with two wins from four races.
